I was elected the Member for Ipswich on 31st January 2015.
In 2017 I was appointed Assistant Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Assistant Minister of State.
Previously I served as Assistant Minister of State Assisting the Premier (November 2016 to November 2017), and Assistant Minister for Local Government (December 2015 to November 2016) where I provided assistance to the Deputy Premier and Minister for Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning and Minister for Trade.
I also served as Chair of the Agriculture and Environment Parliamentary Committee from March 2015 until February 2016.
I have lived in Ipswich for over 30 years. I have raised my two children here and co-ran a local business before moving into roles in State and Federal Government.
I have been active around the community as a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) since 2001 and working with school P&Cs, sporting club committees and local community and seniors groups.
In 2005, I played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Ipswich Women’s Development Network, a not-for-profit organisation which provides an annual scholarship to a local female student at the former UQ Ipswich campus.
I am also a member of the Zonta Club of Ipswich and, until November 2015, was a member of the National Executive of the Australian Labor Party.
I am passionate about arts and yoga; and enjoy walking, reading and spending time with family.
